Nintendo Wii Quit Working
Wii Menu doesn't load, how can I fix it?
I have had my Wii since Launch Day, and have never had any problem with it until 5 days ago.
I have been using it to stream Netflix instant movies with their disc, but on Sunday the system quit on me.
When I power it on, the Health and Safety screen appears, I press the A button, then.... nothing. Blank screen.
I have tried unplugging, letting it rest, and trying again, but this does not work. I have never tried to mod it or load anything but official Wii and GC discs - it has never been modded in any way. Also, there is no SD card in the slot.
If anyone knows how to fix this, WITHOUT sending it to Nintendo and being charged $75 to repair a $150 system, please let me know!
You better call Nintendo Customer service ( 1-800-255-3700 ) & get an official on-phone diagnostics, if you haven't already. There may be something that's been overlooked on your end. The Customer Service Rep might even be nice enough to waive repair fees, if there's a hidden bug in the system that Nintendo has kept quiet about.
Right now there are two options:
1) Send your Wii into Nintendo for repairs... it'll cost you ~$75 & 3 weeks for repairs, but you'll keep all your Wii Shopping Channel & Premium DLC purchases.
2) Buy a New Wii... It'll cost you ~$200 + All your Wii Shopping Channel & Premium DLC purchases (as you cannot transfer your Wii Shopping Channel account manually), but it'll get you back up in a day.
I know it's not what you want to hear, but it's the harsh truth that you'll have to live with.
