Hack to Mod Your Wii to Play DVDs - Fast Homebrew Channel Wii Hack

While the Nintendo Wii remains a popular console, it has always lacked a bit compared to other major consoles.  Lack of DVD playback is a big contributor to this.  There is actually a way to play DVDs on your Wii, however.

You can do this hack without voiding your warranty with a real mod chip.  All you need is a formatted 2GB SD card, sd card reader and writer, the Zelda Twilight Princess Game, and the Twilight Hack (saved game to run the homebrew channel).

The basic steps you'll need to take here are to install the homebrew channel on your Wii, then install the DVD player.

Start by inserting your SD card into the reader and copying the directory of the Twilight Hack to it.

You will then need to place the SD card in your Wii and delete your Zelda saved file in the Wii file manager.  You can start a new game if you have no saved games. 
Make sure you copy the right version of the hack to your SD card.

Insert your Zelda disc to start the game.  You will then see the Twiilght Save Hack on the saved games menu.

When you load up this saved game, you will be able to access the homebrew channel.  This is necessary to play DVDs on your Wii.

The homebrew channel will also give you access to homebrew and import games, new games that you can't play in the US, and apps that let you do many things with your Wii that it would not normally be capable of, such as DVD playback.
