what are the pros and cons of downloading the wii homebrew channel to my wii console?

Im thinking about doing the soft mod with home brew, I know it can brick my wii but what are the other cons and pros to it?

Pros-

Download games
Copy Games & store them from your friends.
Homebrew Browser ( Similiar to the app store for iPhone's only , not as good)
You can learn programming and create your own games/mini apps for the Wii.
Make modifications to games,
Play DVD's on your Wii
Play Mp3's
Region FREE gaming ( play games from PAL or Japanese regions)
Play burnt DVD's or games off a USB drive
When you play games off a USB it saves the CD-rom in your Wii ( the laser) and doesn't produce noise.

Since I have homebrew, I only use if for Downloading games, and copying them for friends onto my usb drive... Other than that I see no point.

Cons.

Can be harmful if you update your Wii ( brick it or something)
Nintendo may not repair your Wii if something happens.
Can be a lengthy proccess to set up..

**It's illegal to download games*** ( if you care)
That's about it..I've found more good in install homebrew channel then bad.
