Wii Component Cable Target

Wii question........?
I purchased a set of component cables from Target yesterday to view the games in 480p and 16:9. After I hooked up the cables, the picture got sharper but the colors seem to fade, especially red and green. They just don't come through clear at all while colors like yellow and blue look very bright. I'm sure everything is connected right because it's all color coded so it's a little tough to screw it up. Any ideas what may be the problem. Should I buy a different cable or might the ones that I have be faulty?
Well I haven't tried it on another TV but I just purchased the HDTV as well. The Direct TV picture is displaying as it should and I did change the screen settings. The cables are 3rd party. A brand called Pysclone which I thought was pretty good. Some of their cables were as much as $60. Maybe I should go and get that set instead.
Did you go into the console settings and set the video output and the screen size? I noticed the same problem with my Wii when I hooked up the component cables. Also are they Nintendo made or 3rd party? Some 3rd party cut corners but I doubt that is the issue. Have you tired hooking something else up to those jacks or have you tried your Wii on a different television? That will help weed out the equipment.
