Wii Homebrew Browser Channel
Nintendo Wii - Homebrew channel help...?
Here is my dilema, i actually have two problems. which i know isnt really what this site is for, but if anyone who is well knowledged in homebrew, please lend a hand.
#1 i can't figure out how to play burnt games, i have the channel downloaded onto my wii, with the gecko loader and a few others. none of them can read the disk. can someone please tell me what files i need on the disk to play it on the wii?
#2 Recently i downloaded the hombrew browser, and it worked fine. but as of late it stopped working. says it cant find the FAT subsytem and to check if the sd card is inserted. which it always is. maybe i accidently deleted a key file from the browser or something. any ideas?
First off, you need to go to the homebrew communities for these questions, as these dance the thin line of violating the Y! Answers community. I will answer these, with the full assumption that you are attempting to play your BACKED UP Wii games.
1. When you burn the disc, you can burn with ANY program, but make sure that you burn at the LOWEST possible speed. Yes, there are people out there burn at the fastest and play all their games flawlessly, but there's even more people who can't play there games because the fast burning causes errors.
Your disc should not be scrubbed. Nintendo always puts out junk space on the discs (believe it or not, Animal Crossing is less than 400 MB). When discs are "scrubbed", they remove this junk, to enable USB Loaders to save space. However, for physical game discs, you need that junk data on there. Your finished disc should be around 4gigs and several hundred megs. I can't remember how much, specifically. Google it to find out. You can, however, dump the update partition of the disc, and add in junk data in that place.
2. Is your SD card actually reading other files off of the disc? Try that. If that doesn't work, just try reinstalling the homebrew browser.
