Wii Sports Game Disc
New Wii won't play Wii Sports, but plays other games?
My new Wii came in from Amazon yesterday, and when i set it up, it didn't recognize Wii Sports in the Disc Channel, and instead, popped up an error message telling me that "An error has occurred. Please eject the disc and contact Nintendo." I tried reinserting the disc many times, and every time it will not read the disc and give me that message. However, when I put in Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Sports Resort, it worked fine. I thought it was a disc problem, so i put it in my friend's Wii. However, his Wii read the Wii Sports disc without any problems! Is this a problem with my new Wii or just needs a firmware update?
Sounds like a Wii hardware problem if the disc works on your friend's Wii. You could have it polished at a video store to be sure, but maybe you should contact Nintendo and ask for a free replacement.
